In case you haven’t noticed, there’s a leadership crisis in the world--and the Church.

According to Dr. Ron Morrison, that should not surprise us: “The leadership problem is nothing new, and as we take a look at some of the leaders in ancient Israel, we see the same character flaws back then that still plague our leadership world today.”

That’s the reason Pastor Morrison began and finished a sermon series in his church that focused on the kings of Israel as described in the book of First and Second Kings. Now he brings the insight from that sermon series to the pages of his second book, Losers and Leaders: The Kings and Prophets of Israel and Judah. Pastor Ron will take you through the stories of Solomon, Asa, Ahab, Elijah, Elisha, and others to help you both avoid the mistakes those leaders made and also emulate their successes.

Pastor Ron writes: “As we study this era of biblical history when men and women made selfish decisions that cost the lives of many, we will also see how prophets of God, such as Elijah and Elisha, spoke truth to power and turned hearts to God, despite the opposition.” And he will conclude that the nations of the earth need that same prophetic presence to confront the error of their ways as they ignore God’s requirement for leaders in every level of society.
