Welcome to the world of Ziggy the Prayer Girl! Let me share with you the inspiration behind these stories. Storytelling has always been a passion of mine, whether for my children, grandchildren, or any eager listener. A pivotal moment of inspiration came from John Stanko’s message we heard in church about being true to the Spirit’s calling. In my case, that calling came through my wife, who for years had been saying, "Those stories you tell the kids, you need to write them down!"

When the COVID-19 pandemic brought isolation, I found God’s purpose within it. Ziggy’s world was born from a desire to create a different kind of hero, one powered by faith, not superpowers. My granddaughter, Zekiah Lily, or "Ziggy," inspired this vision. Ziggy’s purple cape symbolizes the strength found in the Holy Spirit and prayer, giving a refreshing alternative to typical superhero tales.

These stories are meant to be told, not just read. I love using a variety of voices, sound effects, and humor to keep children engaged and excited. You’ll notice a storytelling style throughout, especially in Ziggy's rapid recaps at the end of each adventure-a playful storytelling element that always brought laughter to my own children and grandchildren when I read as quickly as I could and took the long deep breath at the end of Ziggy’s summary.

I encourage you to bring your own imagination and unique storytelling style to Ziggy’s adventures with Jama the Llama. Discover your own special gifts as you connect with children through these tales. Have fun and create memorable moments!
