Cephas T. A. Tushima

Dr. Cephas T. A. Tushima studied at various times in University of Jos; Federal School of Surveying, Oyo; Jos ECWA Theological Seminary (JETS), Jos, Jerusalem University College (Jerusalem), and Westminster Theological Seminary (Philadelphia), where he obtained his PhD in Hermeneutics and Biblical Interpretation. 

 

His ministry experience of over twenty-five years includes youth and student ministries, church planting, children’s pastor, parish pastor, evangelistic campaigns, and Bible expositor and conference speaker (locally and internationally). He is a member of many professional associations, and has served on the executive of several of them at different times. He is currently the president of the Association of Theological Institutions of Nigeria (ATIN) and the President of the non-profit corporation, Hesed Resource and Development Foundation.

 

Dr. Tushima is an Associate Professor of Biblical Studies and currently serves the Academic Dean of JETS. He served as an adjunct professor at Eastern University, St. Davids, USA (2009-2015). Presently, he is a Research Fellow at University of South Africa, Pretoria and Research Associate at Stellenbosch University, South Africa. Dr. Tushima is also a Langham Scholar. His published works include The Fate of Saul’s Progeny in the Reign of David; Integrity Matters: Men of Honour in the Public Square, and several articles in peer review journals. He is also a contributor to Mission as Ministry of Reconciliation, Baker Illustrated Bible Dictionary, and the African Study Bible. For the 2016/17 academic year, Dr. Tushima is a Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence at Geneva College, Beaver Falls, PA.
